Initial Project:

  • Map and inventory the river, including existing access points and campgrounds
  • Work with city, county and federal agencies in developing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to achieve long term viability of the Big Sioux resource.
  • Provide uniform signage for the canoe trail in both South Dakota and Iowa.
  • Identify additional access points and campground locations while working to improve these existing features.
